Claudio Bohórquez

Born in Germany of Peruvian-Uruguayan descent, cellist CLAUDIO BOHÓRQUEZ is one of the leading musicians in his field internationally. Being a graduate of Boris Pergamenschikow, Claudio Bohórquez has won numerous first prizes in international competitions, such as the International Music Competition in Geneva and the International Pablo Casals Cello Codmpetition at the Kronberg Academy. In addition to his soloist- and chamber music activities, he is also in demand as a professor. Bohorquez has been teaching at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart from 2011 to 2016 and since September 2016 he is professor at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin. CD recordings by Bohorquez have been released by EMI, Deutsche Grammophon and BerlinClassics.
